On Pitch rehab to accelerate the Return to Training Process in Football.

This is the first instalment of The ADP Mini CPD series. We know there is lots of CPD and conferences out there to choose from these days but we thought there was also room for some bitesize professional development that you could engage in quickly before returning to your busy work schedule or family life. We know working or aiming to work in the professional Sport world can be tough and time consuming so hopefully these Mini CPD opportunities will help you continue to learn on the go!

This Mini CPD is; Performance Rehab: Integration of Technical Training. Therefore, this mini CPD, will give ideas on how to integrate the technical element of Football to the on-field return (OFR) our athletes.

OFR is a key element in the rehab process and getting this right is crucial for the holistic process of returning a player to training and then performance.

It is something that medical and Sport Science staff may not be completely confident with compared to the physical elements of the rehab process, however it is vital for a holistic approach to return to play and should not be overlooked or left until later in the rehab process. It is our duty to return the player in the best condition possible and if we are to be elite in our processes integrating the technical aspects of the game as early as safely possible to the return to play process is key.

This quick video presentation will give you practical ideas for technical drills to utilise alongside video footage of them in practice and the key drill classifications which highlight what type of internal and external load you can expect to produce from these drills. It will also inform you how to progress these drills as you move through the process to more complex technical work prior to return to position specific work and team training. Once you sign up the videos and drill information will always be there for you to reference.
